Big Loop Construction is looking for Framing Carpenters to join their crew in Calgary. The Current project is wood-frame apartment with 230 units. Big Loop is a growing construction company with multiple projects underway.

This is a full-time position with an excellent opportunity for growth. We offer competitive wages and benefits. Candidates should be motivated, hardworking, safety-oriented, responsible, and reliable. First Aid Ticket is an asset for this position.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participating, promoting, and engaging others in a culture of safety.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials; Build foundations, columns, suspended slabs, erect wood walls and construct roof systems.
  • Must be organized and able to keep work area clean.
  • Willing to learn and have a "Can do" attitude.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Other labour duties as assigned.
  • Communicating information clearly and effectively and working independently or as part of a team.
  • Listening and carrying out instructions diligently and speaking up when instructions are unclear.

Required Qualifications:

  • Residential construction experience.
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
  • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
  • Skilled in the use and care of hand and small power tools associated with the work.
  • Proficiency with hand and air tools
  • Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 30-50lbs as needed
  • Must be able to work in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures for up to 10 hours/day
