MS Cloud Engineer- Northland IT Team

The Northland IT Team is part of Canada's fastest-growing, privately-owned hospitality company and your expertise is a continued valued asset in your defined role.

Duties:

  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain various Azure SaaS Cloud Services such as Azure AD, Teams, Intune, AAD Connect, Exchange Online and O365.
  • Deploy and maintain Azure IaaS Virtual Machines and Azure Application and Networking Services to support growth into the cloud.
  • Communicate technical information to nontechnical operational users
  • On call rotation required for afterhours technical emergency support
  • Optimize Azure buildouts for cost/performance (VM optimization, reserved instances, etc.)
  • Recommend, develop, implement, and fully document IT projects
  • Be the escalation point for other IT Systems Administrators and Helpdesk Support Technicians
  • Manage virtual servers with Windows Server 2012 - 2019
  • Manage Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, and server patching.
  • Ensure the security of the server infrastructure by implementing industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
  • Responsible for the functioning of Microsoft systems such as Active Directory (including on-prem and Azure AD, DNS, ADFS, DFS, DHCP), Exchange, SharePoint.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of Azure and Office 365 experience
  • Proven experience with Azure systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices
  • Certificates preferred, Azure 103/104, MCSA
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or any other relevant field is the minimum educational background necessary
  • Strong desire to learn in a fast-paced environment and work within a team of likeminded individuals
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent time management and mentorship skills

Working Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to work Monday to Friday at Northland Head Office, 310-1755 West Broadway, Vancouver BC
  • In office hours on specified working days is 8:30am to 5pm
  • Afterhours technical support on-call rotation
  • Travel to existing and new corporate locations throughout Canada/abroad if project is assigned
